Altesse was not a market brand. It was a premium Finnish women’s label backed by Piretta Oy, a quality garment manufacturer founded in Kuopio, known for exceptional Finnish sizing and the use of high-grade natural materials — including Pure New Wool. In the 1980s, Altesse pieces retailed at around 499 Finnish marks — a significant sum at the time.

 This was department store and boutique territory, not supermarket rails.

Finding an Altesse piece in any condition is increasingly rare. Finding one deadstock, with original tags, in 100% wool, is something else entirely.
