Diadora “Light Your Fire” Logo-Tape Track Jacket — Mid 90s — Size M

ThePlugOfVintage presents a mid-1990s Diadora “Light Your Fire” logo-tape track jacket produced specifically for the Nordic markets — in near-mint condition, with details that place it at the absolute peak of Italian sportswear design. Dark navy, white, grey, and red. Iconic logo-tape sleeve branding. The “Light Your Fire” label. A piece from the final years of the original Italian family-owned Diadora — before everything changed.

About Diadora — The “Light Your Fire” Era

In 1996, Diadora officially launched its legendary “Light Your Fire” slogan as part of a bold new global marketing strategy, tied to the biggest football events of the decade — Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup. Products carrying this label represented the brand’s premium representative line, produced in limited quantities and distributed primarily across European markets.

These were the years when Diadora cemented its status as one of the most respected Italian brands in both football culture and street fashion — the terracewear and football casuals scene in particular. In 1996, Diadora signed Roy Keane, Manchester United and Ireland’s legendary captain, to a landmark multi-year sponsorship. The brand also sponsored Roberto Baggio, Italian football’s greatest icon of the era. Diadora’s street credibility was at its all-time peak.

Simultaneously, Italian premium sportswear brands — Diadora among them — were pioneering logo-tape sleeve branding: repeating branded stripes designed to read powerfully both on television cameras and in street settings. Your jacket’s sleeve tape represents one of the earliest and purest expressions of this now-iconic design language.

And critically: 1998 was the last year Diadora was owned and controlled by the founding Daniel family, before the brand was sold to Invicta. This jacket (c. 1995–1998) is literally the final act of original Italian family-owned Diadora design and quality — a fact that commands serious respect among international archive collectors and makes pieces from this window genuine investment-grade collectibles.
